Jones Memorial Library

Jones Memorial Library was founded in 1908. Since 1987, they have been located at 2311 Memorial Avenue, on the second floor above the Lynchburg Public Library. Enter at the corner of Memorial Avenue and Lakeside Drive.

The Jones Memorial Library specializes in genealogy and local history. Although their primary focus is on the central Virginia area, the library’s collections include a wide variety of materials covering the State of Virginia as well as the surrounding states, including county histories and court records, family histories and genealogies, general works on the Civil War, county land tax and personal property tax records, and census records.
