Fall Programs for Kids

Kids’ Programs – In-Person:

Preregistration is required for in-person programs. Masks are strongly encouraged for ages 3 & up.

Baby Storytime (ages birth to 2):

Babies/toddlers ages 0 to 2 (and parents/guardians) are invited to join us at 10:30 AM for Baby Storytime, featuring fun songs, lap bounces, fingerplays, and books to promote early literacy. Feel free to stay after storytime and socialize until 11:30 AM!

Family Storytime (ages 3-5):

Children ages 3 to 5 (and parents/guardians) are invited to join us at 10:30 AM for Family Storytime, featuring fun stories, songs, rhymes, and more to promote early literacy.

Saturday Storytime (kids of all ages):

Kids of all ages (and parents/guardians) are invited to join us at 10:30 AM for Saturday Storytime, featuring fun stories, songs, rhymes, and more to promote early literacy.

After-School STEAM (ages 6 to 8):

Children ages 6 to 8 are invited to register for our monthly After-School STEAM programs this fall! Attendees will learn about various science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts through hands-on activities in this monthly program. Parents do not attend.

Family Games (families & kids of all ages):

Family Games are open to everyone and are a great way to spend time with your friends and family! A fun variety of games will be available, including classic board games, Cards Against Humanity: Family Edition, and a life-size Connect Four game.

Trick-or-Treat Parades (kids of all ages; best for ages 2-5):

Celebrate Halloween with our indoor Trick-or-Treat Parade on Tuesday, Oct. 26!

PARADE INFO:
All ages are welcome; best for ages 2-5.
Bring your bag or treat bucket to hold your goodies!
Costumes are encouraged!

Choose which parade time slot works best for you:

•    10:30-11:00
•    11:30-12:00
•    2:30-3:00
•    6:30-7:00

No preregistration is required for this event.

No registration is required for virtual programs.

Storytime Around Town (families & kids of all ages):

Join us on Facebook for Storytime Around Town! Each Storytime Around Town takes place at a unique location around the Lynchburg community, and features stories, songs, rhymes, and more information about our community partner. This program fosters early literacy and helps us learn more about our wonderful community!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Storytime (ages birth to 5):

Kids ages 0-5 are invited to join us on Facebook at 1:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 2 for a special 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Virtual Storytime, featuring stories, songs, rhymes, and more to promote early literacy skills! This storytime will include fun and easy tips on incorporating early literacy practices into your family’s reading time & daily life, and will highlight information about our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Halloween Storytime (families & kids of all ages):

Kids & families: Join us on Facebook at 10:30 AM on Friday, Oct. 15 for a not-so-spooky Halloween Storytime! This fun family event will feature stories, songs, and more, brought to you by the Youth Services staff! (Will you recognize them beneath their costumes?) We hope you will join in!

Gingerbread Storytime (families & kids of all ages):

Kids & families: Join us on Facebook at 10:30 AM on Friday, Oct. 15 for a sweet and festive Gingerbread Storytime! This fun family event will feature stories, songs, and more, brought to you by the Youth Services staff! We hope you will join in!
