Library events:

This summer, we are offering an exciting variety of in-person events for kids!
Preregistration is NOT required for these events unless otherwise indicated.

Summer Reading Program – log & earning prizes:

You can log your books or minutes read on Beanstack. Your Beanstack account will allow you to earn badges, rewards, and entries into our prize drawings for the time you spend reading throughout the summer!

How Beanstack works:

  • Visit our Beanstack website or download the app from the app store on your smartphone or tablet and register for an account. You may register individually or as a family.
  • Prefer to track your reading on paper? You can also visit the Library anytime throughout the summer to pick up a paper log instead. Once you have filled your paper log, return it to the Youth Services desk by July 29 to be entered into the prize drawings.
  • Log your time spent reading.
    • Any type of reading material (print, e-book, graphic novels, audio-book, etc.) counts toward your goal.
    • Reading to your children counts as well.
    • Make sure to log your reading by July 29 to be entered into the prize drawings!
  • After every 2 books read (Pre-K) or 100 minutes read (Children), you will earn a fun badge and move on to the next level. Certain levels will earn you a reward or an entry into one of our prize drawings! (Beanstack will notify you when this is the case.) Once you’ve reached level 10, you will have completed the program! Even after you’ve finished, you can keep logging your reading to increase your odds of winning the grand prize for your age group.

Pre-K Program (birth – age 4*)

  • *Caregivers may choose to register their 4-year-old for either the Pre-K Program or the Children’s Program.
  • “Level up” by reading to your child and logging the number of books you read together!
  • Your child will advance to the next level with every 2 books read. There are 10 levels in all.
