Where can I visit the bookmobile? -- The bookmobile stops at various locations around Lynchburg, Monday through Thursday. The full schedule can be found below. Please note that visits are subject to change. Please check the website or social media for any updates or cancellations.
Is it accessible? -- Yes, the bookmobile is equipped with a wheelchair lift.
Can I request a visit or stop? -- Yes! Fill out the online form here. If you’d like to schedule the bookmobile for a school visit or event, we ask for a minimum four week notice in order to adjust the schedule.
What services does the bookmobile offer? -- The bookmobile operates just like a library branch. While it does not offer business center services (printing, faxing, and scanning) or computer access, patrons can browse books, check out items, attend programs, update their library accounts, or sign up for a library card. Books are available for all ages, ranging from picture books to large print to popular fiction and non-fiction titles.
Can I return my library books at the bookmobile? -- Yes, you can return any book from the Lynchburg Public Library, Campbell, and Bedford Counties.
Can I pick up my holds at the bookmobile? -- Due to limited space, the bookmobile is not a designated pick-up location. Please continue to pick up any holds at the Miller Center, Downtown Branch, or any Bedford or Campbell County library branch.
Can I ride in the bookmobile? -- As cool as that would be, safety regulations do not allow us to offer ride-alongs. But patrons are always welcome to visit the inside when we’re parked at a location.
