Unearth A Story
Ready for a rawr-some summer? Sign up for our annual Summer Reading Program. Starting June 1st to August 8th, keep track of your reading to complete challenges, earn achievements, and win prizes. This program is open to patrons of all ages: children, teens, and adults.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
- Register or login to your Beanstack account
- Search for your site and select Lynchburg Public Library
- Keep track of your reading by logging your time in the app
- Plus attend themed events throughout the summer! See a list of all programs for children, teens, and adults via our library calendar.
PRIZES FOR YOUTH AND TEENS:
"Level up" by reading to your child and logging the number of books you read together! You'll advance to the next level with every 2 books read. There are 10 levels in all.
Certain levels will earn your child a special reward! Beanstack will notify you when this is the case. These rewards may be redeemed at our Miller Center Library Hubs or the Downtown Branch.
Levels 8, 9, and 10 automatically enter your child in our prize drawings:
Level 8 prize drawing: $50 Givens Books & Little Dickens gift certificate
Level 9 prize drawing:
- $75 Bounce LYH gift card (Birth to age 4)
- $75 The Scrappy Elephant gift card (Ages 5 to 10)
- "Dinner and a movie" gift cards ($50 Regal Cinemas and $25 Chick-fil-A; a combined $75 value) (Ages 10 to 17)
Level 10/grand prize drawing:
- Little Tikes Story Dream Machine set (Birth to age 4)
- Instax Mini Camera and photo album (Ages 5 to 10)
- Beats Studio Pro Headphones (Ages 10 to 17)
Keep logging your child's books read after reaching level 10 to increase their odds of winning a prize drawing!
PRIZES FOR ADULTS:
“Level up” each time you read 100 minutes.
Read 100 minutes: A coupon for a free donut from The Wandering Donut
Read 300 minutes: An Unearth a Story cotton tote
Read 500 minutes: Choose a free book
Read 700 minutes: Book reading light (while supplies last)
Read 1,000 minutes: Grand Prize Drawing entry ($50, $75, and $100 gift certificates to Givens Books)
